Reset windows password using windows disk

Here are step by step procedure to reset Windows password reset method.



1.    Boot from Windows DVD>>Select Language.

2.    Select Repair installation.

3.    Now select your installation partition and click next.

4.    Now open command prompt from option it is providing.

5.    In command prompt go on C:\windows\system32\

6.    Now give command “move utilman.exe utilman.exe.bak” press enter

7.    Now run another command “copy cmd.exe utilman.exe”

8.    Now reboot your system using option provided on repair option wizard.

9.    When it launched normally and loads option to press ctrl+alt+del.

10.    Press Win Key+u.

11.    It will launch command prompt.

12.    Run command “net user administrator (new password)” without ().

13.    Now try to login using your new password.

This solution have been tested on Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
